We wrapped the presents last night, staged them under the tree. We put the sign that neena and grampa had made in the tree(packed by santa with love). We put out the eggnog, bit into a cookie(my job) and jason bit into some carrots and placed some whole carrots into a bowl(for the reindeer), set the alarm and went to bed dreaming of sugar plum fairies and all.
The alarm goes off, we get to hit snooze a couple of times. As I was resetting it, we heard the pitter patter of little feet. Which was Connor. He went and woke up his brother, and they both went to wake up their sister. She told them it was too early and to go back to bed. This isn't the funny part. The funny part is they listened!
They stayed in bed for about 10 minutes or so(quietly). Then they decided their next plan was to annoy her awake(always dangerous but there were presents at stake!). So Connor and Aidan laid outside her door and asked questions, interspersing with loud WHAT!, every so often. Eventually she relented, and then they acted cute to get into her good graces.
Finally she came out(me and Jason were awake listening to this escapade. We left our room lights off, though Jason did plug in the tree. ) They got all excited about the staged tree. The note from Santa, the half eaten cookie, the carrots.
None of the kids dug into the presents early. They were all patient. Aidan actually went to get on clean pants. They all waited patiently for Aidan. They all sat down and waited for Allie to distribute the presents, acquiver with excitement. Aidan kept holding up two fingers every time he heard To Aidan. Though he implored Allie with words like To Aidan, Give Aidan Present.
Now they are all quietly playing. Allie took 3 pictures from her new camera from Neena and Grampa. We need to get her a new card, so it holds more pictures. Aidan and Connor are playing with their take apart and put together toy drill set(for Aidan a car and Train and for Connor a plane and helicopter) Jason is happily helping and I am typing up this story, though I did catch Aidan using his new blanket jumping up and down lightly on a chair going HO HO HO
